Where is your family spending your next vacation? Are you currently saving up for some summer amusement? Yet, in all this preparation are you really going to connect with your family or will you just be absorbed in entertainment?
It was the mission of Jesus to reconcile men to God, and thus to one another. 20 Way to tell your child you love them
1.
Snuggle in bed together as you tell a good-night story.
2.
The next time you take a child to an athletic practice, stay and watch from a distance.
3.
Have a family worship time after a meal by singing, praying and reading Scripture together.
4.
Write a crazy poem by taking turns writing the next line (make sure it rhymes!).
5.
At the beach or in a park sandbox, play ticktacktoe in the sand.
6.
Plant trees in your yard in honor of your kids (one for each child).
7.
On a hot day, hook up a water hose and sprinkler in the backyard and run through the water together.
8.
Roast marshmallows over the barbecue.
9.
Show your child where you've kept for a long time a special card or picture he or she has given you.
10.
Honor your child with a "just because" party ("just because I love you") and invite his or her friends.
11.
Make a photo gallery somewhere in your home, and display your children's school pictures from each year.
12.
Play hide-and-seek with your children (don't find them too quickly).
13.
Talk with your child about what you're learning personally about Jesus Christ.
14.
Take advantage of the long days and go on an evening walk together.
15.
Have lunch together in the school cafeteria before the school year ends.
16.
When your child talks to you, put down what you're doing and look into his or her eyes. Maintain an encouraging expression, and make your response positive.
17.
At your next opportunity, give your child a hug. If your child is young, pick up and hold him or her.
18.
When your child says, “Watch me!” — watch. Clap and cheer, “Great job!”
19.
Make a special effort to get a good view of your city's Fourth of July fireworks display.
20.
Start praying now for the spouses your children will have someday. Pray that their marriages will be strong and Christ-centered.
